Burger Night

You can do this with any type of ground meat, however, I recommend Grass Fed/finished, Organic Beef or Local cuts of meat if possible- bison, venison.

Burgers ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground meat

  • 1 tsp Trader Joe’s BBQ rub, or clean seasoning of your choice

  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Burger instructions:

  1. Combine loosely with hands, divide and pattie to the size of your liking- typical yield is 4-5 burgers.

  2. Grill burgers to desired doneness, approximately 4+ minutes on each side on a gas grill set on med/high.

  3. Serve bun-less, inside large romaine or bib lettuce leaves.

  4. Add hummus or Trader Joes Black Bean dip as condiment; add sliced tomato and avocado.

 Sweet Potato “Fries” ingredients:

  • 4-5 medium sized Sweet Potatoes

  •  1-2 tsp Trader Joe’s 21 seasoning salute

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

  • 1 TBSP Coconut Oil

Sweet Potato “Fries” instructions:

  1. Peel and slice potatoes in fry-like fashion.

  2. Melt coconut oil in a baking dish in the oven, set at 375 degrees.

  3. When melted, remove pan, add potatoes and spices and toss lightly.

  4. Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes and turn the fries over.

  5. Bake another 10-12 minutes for desired readiness.  The longer you bake, the crispier they will be.

Also Pictured- Broccolini (steamed and then roasted in coconut oil to crisp and sprinkled lightly with sea salt.)
