My Favorite Things From This Year

As we near Christmas and the end of a WHOLE year of life, I thought I'd share some of my favorite things from this year!

Some of these things may end up being useful for you over the next couple of weeks, and some may inspire you as we head toward 2022! Either way, sharing is caring…so here we go! It was hard for me to just pick a few but I narrowed down a recipe, a book, a supplement and a sleep aid!

1. KALE + SAUSAGE CAULIFLOWER SOUP

I originally modified this soup from Little Broken, and I'm sure her version is great. I specifically use high quality, unconventionally raised pork, coconut milk, and skip the bacon to make it according to my desires! This recipe is one of almost 100 that are currently in the Worthy Wellness Project recipe library!

2. MOMMA’S PEPPERMINT MOCHA

A lot of people think “being healthy” is all-or-nothing, but I've had a peppermint mocha every morning since October! This recipe (plus a scoop of vital proteins vanilla collagen) is my drive-Piper-to-school magic!

3. THE CHOICE + THE GIFT BY DR. EDITH EVA EGER

Fair warning, the first half of this book will break your heart. However, the message, human spirit, and HOPE that is revealed through her story is life-changing! Dr. Eger's The Choice and The Gift are worth reading! If you're into reading quality content, another GREAT, MEANINGFUL book that may resonate with you if you have experienced anxiety in life (who hasn't!?) is Jewel Kilcher's audible reading of Never Broken. These books are intense but, what I call Stell-ar content!

4. ELECTROLYTES

I wish it was universally TAUGHT that your body has as much impact on your mental and behavioral life as anything else. Electrolytes used to be just recommended for athletes, but thankfully, it is more broadly understood that they are helpful to non-athletes, too! Try two of my favorite electrolytes in the new year and see if your hydration, energy, sleep, digestion, and mental health improves! LMNT and NUUN.

5. SOUL CBD DREAM CAPSULES

SLEEP!! It's essential for all things life. It's also elusive depending on a myriad of factors in our lives from hormones, to stress & anxiety, to environment and seasonal shifts, and yes- age. I love this company for THC, organic CBD products and have a particular affinity for the Dream capsules which include melatonin. They have gummies for sleep, too, if that's more your jam. I recommend CBD for a variety of things and always consider the individual's needs and bioindividuality, but these may be a great experiment if you're struggling with sleep! - Click here to check them out!

6. OIL CLEANSING

I think I've shared this before, but I am on over 2 years of using OIL to cleanse my skin and I am a die-hard! I always had really oily skin and thought this wold make it worse, but as is the case with many body-things, the opposite is true! I make my own formula- lavender, german chamomile, tea tree, geranium, bergamot are frequent players! Sometimes I use it as a serum after soap-cleansing as well. I'm no stranger to wrinkles, but I do believe this helps! This primally pure oil cleanser is a great place to start if you don't want to make your own! Oil cleansing & serums are a great way to bring luxury to your morning skincare routine and amp up your self-care, as well as decrease the toxic impact of many products in our bodies and the environment!

Resources like above are just a tiny part of the Worthy Wellness Project experience. I research and curate appropriate ways to manage all sorts of life - stuff for our members! Wellness is not just about food and movement, it's about what goes in and on our bodies and minds, how we think, and how our actions and environments align with what's inside!

P.S. Sign up by Sunday December 19 with our annual membership option to be invited to the end-of-year goal setting workshop where I will lead us through some mindfulness exercises to create CLEAR, MEANINGFUL, ATTAINABLE goals in our new year!
